On pirated books being used to train AI. I still think there's a good chance that a US court will find the use fair, or even transformative. I think EU courts may not.

@mpe Will either court require the citation of sources? That would be analogous to human transmission of knowledge. You're free to regurgitate things you've learnt from others provided you cite your sources.
